ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has rejected allegations that Hindu pilgrims were denied entry on religious grounds, calling the claims baseless and misleading.
Foreign Office spokesperson Tahir Hussain Andrabi said the issue was purely administrative, noting that over 2,400 visas had been issued to Sikh pilgrims for Baba Guru Nanak’s birth anniversary celebrations.
He added that only a few travelers with incomplete documents were asked to return, while the immigration process in Pakistan remained smooth and transparent.
Andrabi stressed that Pakistan welcomes pilgrims of all faiths and accused Indian authorities and media of politicizing the matter for domestic gain.
