Pakistan has temporarily closed parts of its airspace along the Indian border for two days due to ongoing Indian military exercises near the frontier. The closure will be in effect on October 28 and 29, from 6 am to 9 am, as a precautionary safety measure for all flights.
According to the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), the restriction affects certain flight routes within the Karachi and Lahore Flight Information Regions (FIRs) that connect to Indian airspace. Airlines and aviation operators have been notified through a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) to adjust flight schedules and use alternative routes during the restricted hours.
Although commercial and cargo flights may face slight delays or rerouting, authorities assure that regular flight operations will continue smoothly outside the specified time frame.
In a separate development, the Pakistan Airports Authority has started implementing a digital payment system at all airports across the country. This initiative, in collaboration with the State Bank of Pakistan, aims to provide passengers with easier, transparent, and secure payment options while supporting the government’s vision for a modern and cashless financial system.
