While addressing the Breast Cancer Week ceremony in Islamabad, Minister for Health Mustafa Kamal announced that the country’s first free breast cancer screening facility has been established at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS).
Minister for Health Mustafa Kamal, speaking at the Breast Cancer Week ceremony, said that a free screening center for the diagnosis of breast cancer has been inaugurated at PIMS.
He emphasized that early diagnosis is crucial in the fight against breast cancer. The Minister stated, “We do not want people to fall ill first and then come to hospitals.” This center will help diagnose women before they develop the disease.
On the occasion, the Minister conveyed an awareness message to the public, saying, “The war against breast cancer is won through awareness.” He added, “We must protect our mothers, sisters, and daughters from this deadly disease.”
Addressing the medical staff, the Minister said, “Those who serve suffering humanity receive great rewards from Allah.” Announcing future plans, the Minister stated that screening centers should also be established at the district level.
Mustafa Kamal emphasized that “women and girls should get tested before falling ill.” The establishment of this new facility is expected to help women across the country in the early diagnosis of breast cancer.
