Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi announced on Saturday that the Pakistan Super League is ready to expand, as the board formally begins the sale process for two additional teams in the next edition of the tournament.
Sharing the update on his X account, Naqvi wrote: “Time for two new dreams,” hinting at the league’s growth. He added that the PSL is set to become “bigger and better,” as the bidding process for two fresh franchises is now officially underway.
Naqvi also posted an invitation banner issued by the PCB, which outlines the required guidelines for parties interested in purchasing the new teams. According to the document, December 15 has been fixed as the deadline for submitting technical proposals.
The invitation letter states:
“Pakistan Cricket Board invites bids from qualified parties seeking to acquire franchise rights for two new PSL teams. Bid documents containing all essential details can be obtained from the concerned office. The last date for submission of technical proposals is December 15, 2025, at 11:00 AM, while the proposals will be opened at 11:30 AM the same day. Only those meeting the technical criteria will proceed to the next phase.”
This development comes a day after the PCB completed the independent valuation of existing PSL franchises and other commercial properties linked to the league.
Once the evaluation was finalized, renewal offer letters were issued to all compliant teams, outlining the updated franchise fees for the upcoming 10-year term. Franchises have been asked to respond within the stipulated timeframe.
To ensure transparency, the PCB arranged joint as well as separate discussions between franchise representatives and the independent valuer, EY MENA. These sessions will allow the teams to understand the valuation method and raise any concerns directly with the evaluators.
The PCB has also received independent valuation reports for the two new teams. Interested bidders will be able to choose from the following shortlisted cities:
Hyderabad
Sialkot
Muzaffarabad
Faisalabad
Gilgit
Rawalpindi
The PCB reiterated that it is committed to a fair and transparent process and aims to further strengthen its partnership with all PSL stakeholders.
