Actor Pedro Pascal has shared a brief glimpse of his upcoming Marvel film Avengers: Doomsday, while discussing the challenges of learning the cello for his forthcoming film Behemoth!.
In an interview with Variety published on October 23, Pascal revealed that preparing to portray a cellist was one of the most demanding experiences of his acting career. He began learning the instrument before his participation in the project was officially confirmed and continued practising throughout filming.
Pascal plays Alex Serian, a talented musician who returns to Los Angeles after spending 20 years travelling. Written and directed by Tony Gilroy, Behemoth! explores the character’s relationship with music and his struggles to express himself in personal relationships.
To prepare for the role, Pascal trained with cellists Timothy Loo and Charlie Tyler. He described the process as challenging because playing the cello requires precise coordination of bow movements, finger positioning and vibrato. Despite the difficulties, he called the film one of his favourite filmmaking experiences.
The film premiered as the centrepiece selection of the New York Film Festival on October 2 and is scheduled for a theatrical release on December 4, according to the supplied report.
Pascal also offered a brief hint about Avengers: Doomsday, revealing a line his character will say: “It’s good to see you again.” He did not disclose further details about the scene or its context.
The actor also reflected on perseverance and authenticity in the entertainment industry, highlighting the importance of remaining true to oneself while navigating rejection and professional challenges. He additionally discussed De Noche, his anticipated collaboration with director Todd Haynes.
Known for his performances in The Mandalorian, The Last of Us and Game of Thrones, Pascal continues to work across major film and television productions.
