LAHORE – The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has nominated senior party leader and Adviser to the Prime Minister on Inter-Provincial Coordination, Rana Sanaullah, for the upcoming Senate by-election from Punjab.
Punjab Senior Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb confirmed that party supremo Nawaz Sharif has awarded Sanaullah the ticket for the general seat, which fell vacant after the disqualification of PTI’s Ejaz Chaudhry.
The by-election will be held on September 9, according to the Election Commission of Pakistan. Ejaz Chaudhry lost his Senate seat in July after being handed a 10-year jail sentence by an anti-terrorism court in connection with the May 9 riots case.
