Rawalpindi: Police have arrested a suspect allegedly involved in a series of thefts targeting shopping malls and superstores in the city.
According to police officials, the accused carried out thefts in at least three different malls and stores. He would reportedly hide inside the premises and commit the thefts after closing hours.
Authorities further revealed that the suspect also broke locks to gain entry into closed stores. The arrest was made through the use of CCTV footage and human intelligence.
Police recovered a total of Rs. 3.2 million in stolen cash and valuables from the suspect. A case has been registered against him at the Sadiqabad Police Station, and further investigation is underway.
