Karachi police have disclosed new details about the mysterious death of actress and model Humaira Asghar, whose decomposed body was found in her apartment in DHA Phase 6 on July 8, 2025. According to DIG South Asad Raza, the reason her death went unnoticed for months was that the neighbors living next door had been out of the country from October 2024 to February 2025, preventing anyone from detecting the smell of decomposition.
The police explained that the room where Humaira’s body was found had an attached gallery, and the washroom window in the adjacent flat was open, which caused the foul odor to dissipate over time. DIG Raza added that an investigation involving the flat management, watchman, and neighbors is ongoing.
According to police records, Humaira died on October 7, 2024. The watchman tried contacting her three days later but received no response. A friend also attempted to reach her but failed. The body was eventually discovered on July 8, 2025, when a court bailiff visited her flat over unpaid rent.
Initial reports suggested the body had been there for 1-2 months, but the post-mortem revealed it had been 8 to 10 months since her death, with the body in an advanced stage of decomposition.
