Head of the Polio Eradication Program, Adeel Tasawar, has said that an anti polio campaign will be launched from April 13.
According to details, a meeting of the Polio Eradication Program reviewed the polio situation in 36 districts of Punjab. Adeel Tasawar directed districts across Punjab to improve preparations for the anti polio campaign.
He said that shortcomings at the field level should be addressed, and better planning should be carried out with special focus on the identified weak union councils.
He further stated that, except for one sample from Lahore, environmental polio samples across the province are negative; however, due to population movement, the risk of the spread of the polio virus still remains.
The polio campaign will begin from April 13. Additionally, instructions were also given for effective monitoring and mapping of migrant populations.
