ISLAMABAD – President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday commended the armed forces and security agencies for successfully conducting major counterterrorism operations across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, which resulted in the killing of 34 Indian-backed Fitna-al-Khawarij terrorists.

In separate statements, both leaders lauded the professionalism and bravery of the country’s security forces, stating that their timely actions had foiled the nefarious designs of Indian-sponsored terrorist networks.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said the security forces carried out successful operations in Spinwam, South Waziristan, and Bannu, eliminating 34 terrorists linked to India-backed militant groups. He reaffirmed the government’s unwavering commitment to eradicate terrorism from every part of the country.

President Zardari also hailed the achievements of the security forces, describing the recent operations in North and South Waziristan and Bannu as a matter of national pride. He said these actions had significantly helped improve the law and order situation across Pakistan.

Reaffirming Pakistan’s determination to crush terrorism, President Zardari stressed that operations under the “Azm-e-Istehkam” campaign would continue with full force. He vowed that Pakistan would root out the India-backed Fitna-al-Khawarij and Fitna-al-Hindustan, ensuring the complete elimination of extremist threats.

He further said that the entire nation stands united behind its armed forces and law enforcement agencies in their mission to safeguard national security and uphold peace in the country.
