Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has arrived in Jeddah on a two-day official visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, following a formal invitation from Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

Upon arrival, the Prime Minister was warmly received by Prince Saud bin Abdullah Al Jilawi, Governor of Jeddah, Pakistan’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Ahmed Farooq, Saudi Ambassador to Pakistan Nawaf bin Saeed Al-Malki, and other senior officials.

Following the welcome ceremony, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, accompanied by his delegation, travelled to Makkah to perform Umrah.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Prime Minister is scheduled to hold a high-level meeting with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman during which key matters—including enhancing trade and investment, promoting the welfare of the Muslim Ummah, and addressing regional peace and security—will be discussed.

The Prime Minister is also expected to express gratitude to the Saudi leadership for its constructive role in easing recent tensions between Pakistan and India.

This visit highlights the enduring and strategic partnership between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, built on mutual respect, shared faith, and long-standing bilateral ties. It also reaffirms both nations’ commitment to strengthening economic and diplomatic cooperation in line with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 and Pakistan’s development roadmap.

Just last week, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif concluded a successful diplomatic tour of four nations aimed at bolstering regional alliances in the wake of heightened tensions with India.
