Lahore: Police have arrested the prime suspect in the murder of a woman in Okara district, nearly two years after the incident stemming from a land dispute.
According to officials, the Kahna SHO, along with his team, traced and apprehended the accused from the Kahna area. The operation was conducted on a special directive issued by DIG Operations to ASP Kahna, Fasih ur Rehman.
Police said the suspect, Farukh, had a long-standing land dispute with the victim, Munawar Bibi, in Haveli Lakha, Okara. During the night, the accused—along with three accomplices—allegedly opened fire on the woman, killing her on the spot. After the murder, he fled and remained hidden in Kahna to evade arrest.
SP Model Town Shehrbano Naqvi appreciated SHO Faheem Imdad and his team for the arrest, noting that special teams have been constituted to curb crime and continue targeted operations.
