LAHORE, August 28, 2025 — A private school teacher in Defence C Block was arrested on Thursday after a sixth-grade student was allegedly assaulted inside the classroom, leaving the child in need of medical treatment.
Police reported that the victim’s father, Abdul Razaq, filed an FIR at Lahore Cantt Police Station, accusing teacher Samar Abbas of slapping and striking his 12-year-old son, Fahad Razaq, with a cane during a lesson.
Law enforcement officers apprehended Abbas at his residence, registered charges under child protection and corporal punishment laws, and handed him over to the Investigation Wing for further inquiry.
District authorities have directed school management to tighten internal disciplinary protocols and urged educators and parents to report any incidents of corporal punishment immediately.
