KARACHI: The high-profile murder investigation of young businessman Mir Raza Ali has been significantly broadened following the inclusion of a senior Citizens-Police Liaison Committee (CPLC) official into the probe team, ARY News reported.
According to an official notification issued by Additional IG Karachi Range Azad Khan—following directives from the Karachi police chief—CPLC Assistant Chief CCRC Kashif Iftikhar has been appointed to the investigation team to provide crucial technical assistance. Authorities stated that the CPLC’s specialized support will aid investigators as they piece together evidence and pursue all available leads in the case.
The development comes on the heels of major investigative breakthroughs. Police recently obtained vital CCTV footage from a deserted location in Gulistan-e-Jauhar, where Mir Raza Ali’s body was discovered. The footage, captured at around 3:36 AM on July 29, shows a suspicious motorcycle lingering at the scene for approximately 22 seconds.
Investigative sources suspect that Ali’s body may have been dumped during this brief window, while authorities are also probing whether the culprits returned to retrieve a weapon or discarded a pistol holster alongside the victim. As the net tightens around the suspects, law enforcement agencies are continuing to analyze the digital and forensic evidence to crack the case.
