The Punjab Drug Control Wing seized a consignment of fake medicines during an operation on Multan Road.
On the instructions of Provincial Health Minister Khawaja Imran Nazir and Health Secretary Nadia Saqib, the Punjab Drug Control Wing raided BS Distribution at Habib Park, Multan Road, and confiscated a large quantity of fake, unregistered, and smuggled medicines.
According to the Chief Drug Controller Punjab, the seized medicines are worth more than 300,000 rupees, including counterfeit life saving anti D injections, which were being supplied to various hospitals and pharmacies.
The purpose of this operation is to protect the public from substandard and counterfeit medicines and to safeguard the healthcare system. The Drug Control Wing team is continuing further operations to prevent the supply of illegal medicines.
Provincial Health Minister Khawaja Imran Nazir appreciated the operation, stating that protecting the health and lives of the public is our foremost responsibility and that the government is taking strong measures to curb counterfeit medicines.
