A detailed report on the devastation caused by recent floods in Punjab has been released, showing alarming figures of loss of life, displacement, and damage across several districts.

According to the Relief Commissioner, 97 people lost their lives in various flood-related incidents, while more than 4,500 villages have been badly affected. The report highlights that the floodwaters of River Chenab alone inundated 2,334 villages, while 672 villages were hit by flooding in the Sutlej River and another 1,482 localities suffered damage due to the overflow of River Ravi.

The disaster has directly impacted 4.49 million people, out of which 2.45 million have been evacuated and shifted to safer areas.
