LAHORE: The Punjab government has launched its first dedicated female pathology lab collection center at the Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC). The facility was officially inaugurated by Provincial Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique, alongside Dr. Farqad Alamgir, Chairman of the Chief Minister’s Advisory Committee on Cardiac Diseases, and Chairman of the PIC Board of Management. Other notable attendees included Professor Anjum Jalal, MS PIC Dr. Amir Rafiq Butt, Professor of Pathology Ambreen Anwar, Dr. Zeeshan Ghous, Dr. Imran Shah, and Director Finance Hasan Latif.

Built at a cost of PKR 4.6 million, the center is equipped to accommodate diagnostic tests for up to 15 patients simultaneously. The services will be available from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, providing convenient access for women patients seeking pathology tests. This new facility aims to make diagnostic services more accessible and efficient, particularly for female patients.

During the inauguration, Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique met with the center staff and was presented with a bouquet of flowers. He praised the efforts of the PIC management and staff for establishing the facility and acknowledged the contributions of philanthropists who supported the project.

The Health Minister emphasized that similar female pathology lab collection centers would be introduced in other hospitals across the province. Under the leadership and vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, the government is committed to improving healthcare access and providing top-quality cardiac and diagnostic services to patients.
