LAHORE: Punjab Assembly member Tahir Parvez has called for speeding up the announcement of matriculation and intermediate examination results in the province.
The lawmaker has proposed reducing the result-processing period from around four months to two months, arguing that students should not have to wait for extended periods before moving on to their next level of education.
Long delays in examination results can create difficulties for students seeking admission to colleges and universities, particularly when admission schedules are linked to academic results.
The MPA has called for the relevant parliamentary committee to take up the matter and suggested summoning the concerned board officials to explain the reasons behind lengthy result-processing periods.
The proposal could benefit students by allowing them to receive their results earlier and make timely decisions about higher education.
However, the proposal is currently a demand rather than an implemented policy, and any change in the result timeline would require consideration by the relevant authorities and examination boards.
