The Punjab Police have launched a vigorous campaign across Lahore and other parts of the province to eliminate criminal and anti-state elements. Continuing their ongoing operations, the police have been targeting gangs involved in murder, kidnapping for ransom, rape, and armed robbery.
According to a Punjab Police spokesperson, during the year 2025, authorities have dismantled 4,574 gangs and arrested 11,198 dangerous criminals. The police also recovered stolen property worth over Rs 2.72 billion, which included vehicles, motorcycles, mobile phones, gold, livestock, and cash.
In addition, a large cache of weapons was seized, including 1,430 Kalashnikovs, 2,320 rifles, 27,630 pistols, 2,511 shotguns, 380 revolvers, and more than 200,000 bullets.
In Lahore alone, police arrested 5,054 suspects belonging to 2,273 gangs. The Inspector General of Punjab Police has directed officials to intensify operations further, emphasizing that under the Chief Minister’s vision, efforts will continue until Punjab becomes a crime-free province.
