The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted light rainfall in Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, and western Uttar Pradesh today, while higher regions of Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand are witnessing fresh snowfall.
By Wednesday evening, cold winds from the hills brought temperatures in Delhi-NCR down to around 18, 19°C, with air quality improving slightly Anand Vihar’s AQI dropped to 261. The IMD says an active western disturbance is responsible for the weather shift.
Popular hill destinations like Gulmarg, Sonmarg, Kedarnath, and Badrinath are blanketed in snow, drawing tourists even as the cold intensifies across the northern plains.
