The mystery surrounding the abduction and murder of 17-year-old Sania from Lahore’s Raiwind area has been solved, as police confirmed that the accused was a close acquaintance of the victim.
Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Investigation Syed Zeeshan Raza took notice of the incident, following which a special investigation team was constituted under the supervision of SP Sadar Investigation. The team, led by In-Charge Investigation Raiwind Police Station Jamshed Abbas, conducted a targeted operation and arrested the suspect.
According to police, the accused killed Sania after a minor dispute, assaulting her with wooden sticks before fleeing the scene.
Investigators revealed that both the accused and the victim were employed in selling SIM cards for a private company, and the victim was residing at the suspect’s house. The accused was traced and arrested using modern technology along with human intelligence.
DIG Investigation Syed Zeeshan Raza stated that the suspect is now in police custody and a strong challan will be submitted to ensure maximum punishment. He added that individuals involved in the abduction and murder of women and children would not be shown any leniency.
