ISLAMABAD: Senior PML-N leader and Adviser to the Prime Minister on Inter-Provincial Coordination, Rana Sana, has been elected as a Senator from Punjab in Tuesday’s by-election.
The Returning Officer and Punjab Election Commissioner, Sharif Ullah, issued the results, confirming Rana Sana’s victory.
Rana Sana secured 250 votes, while one vote was declared invalid, defeating Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) candidate Salma Ejaz Chaudhry.
It is worth mentioning that the Senate seat became vacant following the disqualification of PTI leader Ejaz Chaudhry in connection with the May 9 cases.
