Rawalpindi: Police Station Rawat has arrested a man who allegedly murdered his wife two weeks ago and attempted to falsely implicate her former husband in the crime.
According to a spokesperson for Rawalpindi Police, the weapon used in the murder, a pistol, has also been recovered from the suspect.
Police officials stated that the accused shot his wife dead and inflicted minor injuries on himself to stage the incident as an attack carried out by the victim’s former husband.
However, during investigation, the accused confessed to killing his wife and injuring himself to mislead law enforcement authorities. On his disclosure, police recovered the murder weapon.
SP Saddar stated that the accused will be challaned to court with solid evidence to ensure legal proceedings are carried out effectively.
