Austria — Red Bull Racing has confirmed that Formula 1 driver Max Verstappen is unharmed following his crash during qualifying for the Austrian Grand Prix. Team officials said Verstappen walked away from the incident without serious injuries and is fit to compete.
Red Bull team principal Laurent Mekies stated that the crash was caused by a technical issue that resulted in a loss of rear aerodynamic performance, leaving the driver with little chance of avoiding the accident. The team accepted full responsibility for the incident and publicly apologised to Verstappen.
