Karachi, September 7, 2025 — Police have registered a case against unidentified armed men who looted over Rs20 million from a bank cash van near Kalima Chowk in Manghopir police limits two days ago.
According to the FIR, lodged on the complaint of Security Supervisor Ghazi Khan, the incident occurred when the van was passing through the New Nazimabad Gate. The supervisor stated that five armed men intercepted the vehicle, snatched a rifle from a security guard named Aftab, and fled with the cash. He further said he would be able to identify the suspects if presented before him.
CCTV footage obtained by 24NewsHD shows the robbers arriving on two motorbikes, surrounding the van, and escaping after seizing the money and the guard’s weapon.
Police officials confirmed that efforts were underway to apprehend the culprits and recover the looted funds, adding that 10 individuals had been detained for questioning so far.
Taking notice of the incident, Sindh Home Minister Ziaul Hassan Lanjar directed the SSP West to submit a detailed report and dispatch special teams to track down the dacoits. He expressed concern over the failure to monitor the movement of such a large amount of money.
