Pakistan’s rising star Saim Ayub has achieved a remarkable milestone by entering the ICC T20I All-Rounder Rankings Top 10, making him the highest-ranked Pakistani all-rounder in the format.
The left-handed batter, who has steadily cemented his place in the national side, climbed to 10th position following his impactful performances in recent T20 internationals. His ability to contribute with the bat and add value in other facets of the game has been recognized in the latest ICC update.
While Pakistan as a team has struggled for consistency in T20Is over the past year, Saim’s rise reflects a promising shift towards nurturing new talent. His ranking now puts him alongside some of the format’s biggest names, underscoring his potential to become a long-term asset for Pakistan cricket.
Meanwhile, other Pakistani players also saw movement in the updated rankings:
Salman Ali Agha gained two spots to reach 57th place in the batting charts.
Fakhar Zaman made a significant jump of nine positions, moving up to 68th.
On the downside, former captain Babar Azam and wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan continued to slip down the list, now ranked 24th and 28th respectively, largely due to their absence from T20Is since December 2024.
For Pakistan, Saim Ayub’s rise offers a glimmer of hope at a time when the team is in transition. His emergence as a top-ranked all-rounder highlights not only his personal growth but also the importance of backing young players in international cricket.
