RAWALPINDI: Pakistan’s T20I captain Salman Ali Agha has achieved a historic milestone, surpassing icons such as Rahul Dravid, MS Dhoni, and Mohammad Yousuf to set a new world record for the most international matches played in a single calendar year. Agha reached this landmark during Pakistan’s dominant 69-run victory over Zimbabwe in the T20I tri-series at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
Pakistan have already featured in 54 international matches in 2025 — the highest by any team this year — with the West Indies next on the list with 45. Agha remains the only player to appear in every one of Pakistan’s fixtures, further solidifying his status as the team’s most reliable all-format performer.
This tally equals Pakistan’s own record for the most international games played by any team in a year and places Agha at the top of a prestigious list featuring legends from across eras, including Rahul Dravid (53), Mohammad Yousuf (53), MS Dhoni (53), Lance Klusener (52), Paul Collingwood (52), and Sachin Tendulkar (51).
Agha’s consistency and workload across formats have made him the backbone of Pakistan cricket throughout 2025, marking an extraordinary achievement in the international sporting calendar
