The Ministry of Religious Affairs has issued a formal warning to prospective Hajj pilgrims and medical practitioners in Pakistan following new health regulations announced by Saudi Arabia.
According to Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Health, individuals suffering from serious or contagious illnesses will not be permitted to perform Hajj starting from the 2026 pilgrimage season. The directive aims to ensure the safety, health, and well-being of all participants during one of the world’s largest religious gatherings.
Pakistan’s Ministry of Religious Affairs has urged all intending pilgrims to undergo thorough medical examinations before applying for Hajj. Medical practitioners have also been instructed to strictly adhere to the new screening guidelines to prevent any violations that could lead to travel restrictions or deportations.
Officials emphasized that the policy aligns with global public health standards, particularly in the wake of recent infectious disease outbreaks. Further details regarding the list of disqualifying illnesses and medical certification procedures are expected to be released soon.
