Panic has spread in the United Kingdom after two students died of meningitis and many others were infected with the virus.

‎Following the outbreak among university students, a vaccination campaign has been launched, particularly at the University of Kent, where around 5,000 students are being vaccinated.

‎Reports are circulating that the virus has spread to another university in Kent, while cases had already been confirmed among students at one university earlier.

‎The health department has immediately initiated a vaccination campaign to control the spread of the infection.

‎According to British media reports, Canterbury Christ Church University revealed that the UK Health Security Agency has confirmed a case of meningitis in one of its students.

‎University authorities said they have informed a limited number of close contacts of the individual so they can take antibiotics as a precaution.

‎Some students’ parents have confirmed that their children are receiving hospital treatment after being infected with meningitis.

‎A student from the University of Kent and an 18 year old student from Queen Elizabeth’s Grammar School in Faversham died after being diagnosed with the disease.

‎Cases have also been confirmed among students at Dane Court Grammar School in Broadstairs, Simon Langton Grammar School, Canterbury Academy, Highworth Grammar School, and Norton Knatchbull School. The UKHSA has issued an alert urging adherence to precautionary measures and guidelines.
