A seminar on polio prevention was organized in Alipur with the support of UNICEF, in which workers were given awareness about successfully completing the anti polio campaign.
Addressing the seminar, CO Health Dr. Fayaz Gohang said that despite harsh weather conditions, every child under the age of five will be administered polio drops. A total of 156,733 children across the tehsil will be given polio drops, for which 604 teams have been formed. These teams will be monitored by 112 area in charges. Along with 561 mobile teams, 21 fixed sites have been established, which will help ensure that every child under the age of five receives polio drops during the anti-polio campaign starting in December.
Addressing the seminar, Dr. Shumaila said that for the complete eradication of polio from Pakistan, parents must ensure that their children under the age of five receive polio drops. She expressed hope that Pakistan will soon be completely free of polio. The seminar was attended by CO Health Dr. Fayaz Khan Gopang, MS of Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Dr. Ghulam Panjtan, and dozens of polio workers.
