Senator Ali Zafar, speaking in a special interview, said that the completion of Parliament today is a positive development for democracy. He said that only when Parliament is respected will the democratic process move forward, and that solutions to problems should also emerge from within Parliament.
Senator Ali Zafar said that the opposition leader’s speech is a positive sign, and now it remains to be seen how the government responds to it. He stated that the mandate for negotiations has been given by the PTI founder to Mahmood Achakzai and Allama Nasir Abbas, while creating a conducive environment for talks is the responsibility of the government.
He said that if the government stops violence, dialogue can move forward. According to Senator Ali Zafar, basic human rights should be granted to the entire nation and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, and negotiations are not possible without the supremacy of the Constitution and law.
He further said that peaceful protest is a constitutional right and the government must allow this right. Senator Ali Zafar announced that nationwide protests will be held on the 8th, under which a shutter down protest will take place across Pakistan; however, there will be no sit-in on that day, only a peaceful protest.
