Renowned TV host and actress Shaista Lodhi has voiced her concerns over the lack of respect shown during the holy month of Muharram, criticizing the increasing trend of celebration-based content and music being circulated during this solemn time.
Taking to her official Instagram account, Shaista expressed that Muharram should be a time of remembrance, reflection, and respect, not one of frivolous activities and festive displays. She emphasized that true culture and faith lie in understanding sacred traditions, and that the month of mourning is being treated casually, which deeply disappoints her.
Without directly naming anyone, she criticized content creators and influencers for continuing to post dance reels and party clips, calling it insensitive and a deviation from Islamic values.
Shaista’s strong message resonated with many fans who agreed that digital platforms must be used responsibly, especially during religiously significant periods.
