The Sindh government has withheld this year’s funding for the Karachi Bar and Malir Bar Associations.
According to the official order issued by the government, the names of both Karachi and Malir Bar Associations are missing from the funding list.
Lawyers from Karachi and Malir have expressed serious concern over this move. They said that they are being punished for raising their voices on public issues. The lawyers called this action a clear example of injustice and government oppression.
So far, no protest has been held, and no government official has contacted the lawyers’ community regarding the matter.
The lawyers said that they will announce their next plan of action after the upcoming cabinet meeting.
