Armed robbers looted a mobile phone shop near Badar Commercial in Karachi’s Defence area, escaping with more than 40 mobile phones worth millions of rupees. Sindh Interior Minister Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar has taken notice of the incident and sought a detailed report from the SSP South.

According to representatives of the Karachi Mobile and Electronics Dealers Association, including its president Minhaj Gulfam, the suspects forcibly entered the shop and made off with over 40 mobile phones valued at more than Rs90 million, as stated by the affected shop owner.

The association urged senior police officials to ensure the immediate arrest of the culprits and recovery of the stolen mobile phones.

Taking notice of the robbery, the Sindh Interior Minister directed the police to take swift action, emphasizing that the protection of citizens and traders is the government’s top priority. He warned that negligence in this regard would not be tolerated.

The minister ordered the immediate arrest of those involved and instructed police to utilize modern investigative techniques and professional policing methods. He also directed that facilitators aiding the suspects be identified and brought to justice.

Furthermore, the interior minister called for intensified intelligence-based and targeted operations against criminal gangs and instructed the SSP South to keep his office regularly informed about the progress of the investigation.

Police officials stated that CCTV footage and other evidence are being examined to trace and apprehend the suspects.
