The Sindh Healthcare Commission has alerted private hospitals in the flood affected areas of the province.
The Sindh Healthcare Commission has directed that all private hospitals and healthcare institutions play their role effectively for the protection of the public and take measures to safeguard hospitals from floodwater.
The commission instructed that alternative arrangements such as generators be ensured for ER, ICU, and OT, and that proper arrangements be made to ensure the safe and immediate transfer of patients in case of flooding.
According to the Sindh Healthcare Commission, all hospitals have been bound to remain prepared with staff on duty 24 hours, and beds should be reserved in advance for flood victims.
The commission also stated that epidemic diseases could spread in flood affected areas, for which hospital staff must remain active, and systematic coordination should be maintained with district health authorities to report cases.
