KARACHI – The Sindh Education Department has announced the closure of all public and private schools and colleges across the province on Thursday due to heavy rains and difficult commuting conditions.

Jinnah Sindh Medical University (JSMU) will also remain closed, confirmed Vice Chancellor Prof. Amjad Siraj Memon, adding that online classes will continue as scheduled under direct supervision of university leadership. All examinations set for tomorrow have been postponed.

Sindh Education Minister Syed Sardar Ali Shah said the decision was made keeping student safety in view. The All Sindh Private Schools and Colleges Association also welcomed the move, stating that students would have faced hardships reaching campuses despite the reduced threat of stormy weather.

Educational activities are expected to resume once conditions improve.
