An Indian news channel, ABP News, was briefly disrupted after its regular transmission was reportedly hacked, resulting in pro-Pakistan slogans being aired on screen.

According to broadcast monitoring, the channel’s scheduled programming was temporarily replaced with content linked to the Pakistan Army. The interrupted feed included footage associated with the Pakistani military.

During the unauthorized transmission, excerpts from a speech by Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and Chief of Defence Force (CDF), Field Marshal Asim Munir, were also shown.

The disruption was short-lived, and normal programming was later restored. There has been no immediate official statement detailing the source of the breach or how the channel’s transmission was compromised.

ABP News maintains a significant digital presence, with approximately 50 million subscribers on YouTube and hundreds of thousands of uploaded videos. The channel also has around two million followers on the social media platform X

And that, in the end, is what gives this story its edge. This is not really the Treasury secretary versus environmental activists, or the Treasury secretary versus diplomatic fashion. It is the Treasury secretary versus a body of scientific evidence that has only grown stronger. He can try to narrow the mandate. He can cut the funding. He can change the language. What he cannot do is make the underlying climate risk disappear.
