The Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) has decided not to disclose the names of judges who have been cleared of complaints under Article 209 of the Constitution, maintaining its existing policy.
According to sources, the SJC meeting — chaired by Chief Justice Yahya Afridi — lasted for two hours and considered 24 complaints. Out of these, 19 were dismissed unanimously, while five were deferred for further review.
Judges attending the meeting included Justice Munib Akhtar, Justice Aalia Neelum, and Chief Justices of the Lahore and Sindh High Courts, with Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah joining via video link.
The Council also approved the draft of the new Supreme Judicial Council Secretariat Service Rules, 2025.
It further decided that the procedures for inquiries and changes in the judicial Code of Conduct need more legal analysis and discussion before implementation.
