KHANEWAL: The City Police of Mian Channu have successfully solved a blind murder case by arresting the victim’s step-son, officials said on Thursday.
According to police, the accused, identified as Hanzala Shahid, confessed to killing his stepfather, Tahir Tayyab, by attacking him with a cricket bat.
Investigations revealed that the deceased had married the accused’s mother two years ago, which had caused resentment in the suspect. Police stated that the accused murdered his stepfather out of long-standing anger and personal grudge.
The case was initially registered at City Police Station Mian Channu on the complaint of the victim’s brother, Idrees. Using modern investigative techniques, police traced the suspect, arrested him, and obtained his confession.
Officials added that legal proceedings are underway and the suspect will be brought to justice as per the law.
