A private school teacher in Phoolnagar allegedly fractured a 9th-grade student’s hand after repeatedly beating her for not memorizing her lesson, police said on Friday.

According to reports, the teacher struck the student multiple times with a stick after she failed to perform well on a test, leaving her with a fractured right hand.

The incident occurred in the hometown of Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat. Following a complaint lodged by the girl’s father, police at the City Police Station have launched an official investigation into the matter.

Meanwhile, the school administration has denied the allegations, calling them false and baseless, while the investigation continues to determine the facts behind the incident.
