Federal Health Minister Mustafa Kamal has inaugurated a telemedicine center in Islamabad.
According to details, addressing the inaugural ceremony, Mustafa Kamal said that telemedicine is a revolution in the health sector. Technology has made treatment easier in remote areas.
He said that patients and doctors will be monitored at telemedicine centers. Through telemedicine, they want to make treatment easier for the poor segment of society. Strengthening basic health units will reduce the burden on major hospitals.
He further said that reforms are being introduced in the health system. The basic healthcare system needs to be strengthened, as growing population is putting pressure on resources. We are adding a population equivalent to that of New Zealand every year.
The Health Minister said that spacing between births is essential for healthcare, and the healthcare system has failed to prevent people from falling ill.
