ISLAMABAD: The Cabinet Division has released the Toshakhana record for the first six months of 2025, revealing details of gifts received by top government officials, military chiefs, and political leaders between January 1 and June 30.
According to the record, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, President Asif Ali Zardari, and Chief Ministers were among the high profile recipients. Key cabinet members, including Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, and Minister for Economic Affairs Ahad Cheema, also received presents.
The heads of armed forces the Chief of Army Staff, Air Chief, and Naval Chief – were listed along with senior officials such as Chief of General Staff Lt Gen Syed Amir Raza and Vice Admiral Raja Rab Nawaz. Other notable names include Chairman NAB Lt Gen (retd) Nazir Ahmad, Chairman FBR Rashid Langrial, senior politicians Tariq Fatemi and Khawaja Imran Nazir, and several ministers and bureaucrats.
Interestingly, Chief Justice of Pakistan presented a shield to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, while the FBR chairman also gifted him a shield. Most of the gifts came from foreign dignitaries and visiting delegations.
The items included decoration pieces, luxury watches, electric vehicles, carpets, bed sheets, prayer mats, tea and coffee sets, tablecloths, and neckties. All recipients deposited their gifts into the Toshakhana as per procedure. The Cabinet Division is currently evaluating their monetary worth, with the assessment process underway.
Earlier, the Shehbaz led government had already made public Toshakhana records from 2002 to 2024, along with documents covering 1997 to 2001.
