After two cases of the Congo virus were reported in Karachi, the Sindh Livestock Department has instructed authorities to begin emergency measures across the city.
According to DG Livestock Dr. Hizbullah Bhutto, both affected patients belong to the West district. Dr. Hizbullah stated that the young patient Muhammad Ameen has been admitted to the Sindh Infectious Disease Hospital, while a girl named Vania is under treatment in the ICU of Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. Doctors are keeping a close watch on the condition of both patients.
The Livestock Department has ordered spraying in all districts of Karachi and has directed cattle owners to immediately get their animals vaccinated.
The department has warned that citizens must take precautionary measures when approaching animals to prevent the spread of the virus.
