According to Islamic scholars and astronomical calculations, the year 2030 is expected to witness two occurrences of the holy month of Ramadan. The first Ramadan is likely to begin in early January, while the second is anticipated to fall in late December of the same year.
This rare event happens due to the difference between the lunar and solar calendars, where the Islamic calendar is based on the moon’s cycle, making it shorter by about 10 to 11 days each year. As a result, once every 30 years or so, Muslims around the world may observe Ramadan twice within the same Gregorian year.
