Police in Lahore arrested two suspects involved in harassing and assaulting a female student in the Islam Pura area, following swift action and CCTV surveillance.
According to police, the incident occurred when the suspects, riding a motorcycle, verbally harassed and physically assaulted the student while she was walking through a street before fleeing the scene. CCTV footage of the incident later surfaced, clearly showing the suspects committing the act and escaping.
Upon receiving information, SHO Islam Pura Faryad Ashraf immediately responded and initiated action. City SP Bilal Ahmed stated that through CCTV footage and further investigation, the suspects identified as Hassan and Umar were traced and arrested.
SP City commended the police team for their effective response and reiterated that harassment or misconduct against women would not be tolerated, emphasizing that a zero-tolerance policy is being strictly enforced to ensure women’s safety.
