President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, arrived in Pakistan on his first official visit, where he received a warm and cordial welcome.

According to the Foreign Office spokesperson, the UAE President is accompanied by a high-level delegation comprising ministers and senior officials. During the visit, both sides are expected to hold wide-ranging discussions on bilateral relations as well as regional and global matters of mutual interest.

The Foreign Office stated that the visit reflects the deep-rooted, long-standing brotherly ties between Pakistan and the UAE. It is expected to further strengthen cooperation in trade, investment, energy, development, and regional stability.

During his stay, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan will meet President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and other key leaders to discuss enhanced collaboration and future partnerships.

Earlier, the Foreign Office confirmed that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had extended the invitation for the visit.

In view of the visit, the federal capital Islamabad has been declared a local holiday, while the Islamabad High Court and District Courts remain closed today. Traffic advisories and security arrangements have also been issued by Islamabad Police.

The UAE is regarded as one of Pakistan’s closest economic and regional partners, being its third-largest trading ally after China and the United States. Both nations have recently signed multi-billion-dollar agreements aimed at boosting cooperation in infrastructure, logistics, railways, and economic development.
