British singer Ian Watkins, jailed on multiple child abuse charges, has been killed in a violent attack by fellow inmates inside a West Yorkshire prison, authorities confirmed on October 12, 2025.
Police said the 48-year-old singer, who was serving a 29-year sentence, was attacked at 9:40 a.m. inside the facility known as “Monster Mansion” — a prison notorious for housing some of the UK’s most dangerous criminals.
Despite immediate medical assistance, Watkins died on the spot. Police have arrested two inmates on murder charges and launched an investigation.
According to prison sources, Watkins was stabbed multiple times by other prisoners. This was not the first attack on him; he had previously been assaulted in August 2023.
In 2013, Watkins admitted to 13 offences, including child sexual abuse, an attempt to rape a baby, and making indecent videos involving minors.
