Karachi, May 2025 – In a moment of pride for the Department of Mass Communication, Wania Siddiqui has been appointed as the President of the Journalism Society under the prestigious Youth Ambassador Programme of the Arts Council of Pakistan, Karachi.

Wania Siddiqui, who recently graduated with a First Class First Position in BS Mass Communication, continues to inspire her peers by taking on this significant leadership role. Her appointment reflects her commitment to ethical journalism, truth, and youth empowerment through media.

Under her leadership, the Journalism Society aims to promote ethical journalism, media awareness, and student expression. The newly announced executive team also includes Abdul Rafay as Vice President and Wahaj Uddin as General Secretary. Together, they bring energy and dedication to foster storytelling, responsible media practices, and critical dialogue among youth.

Speaking about the mission of the society, Wania emphasized, “Our goal is to amplify student voices and cultivate a culture of truth and responsibility in journalism. I hope to create opportunities for students to engage with real-world media practices and contribute meaningfully to society.”

This achievement is not only a personal milestone for Wania but also a motivational moment for current and prospective students of Mass Communication. Faculty members have praised her dedication and encouraged other students to follow her lead by actively engaging with professional platforms and co-curricular societies.

Students from Mass Communication departments across Karachi and Pakistan are encouraged to join and contribute to the Journalism Society. Such initiatives provide vital exposure, networking opportunities, and a deeper understanding of the ethical foundations of journalism.
