RAWALPINDI: Westridge Police have successfully solved a two-month-old burglary case and arrested the suspect — who, in a shocking twist, turned out to be the complainant’s cousin.
According to police, the arrested suspect confessed during interrogation that he entered the house in the family’s absence and stole gold jewellery and foreign currency. The suspect later sold the stolen items and pocketed around Rs. 3 million.
On the suspect’s indication, police recovered Rs. 3 million in cash and gold jewellery worth over Rs. 1 million. Initially, the complainant had suspected the domestic help, but further investigation revealed the real culprit.
SP Potohar stated that individuals involved in crimes against citizens’ life and property will not escape the law, adding that operations against criminal elements will continue with full force.
