WhatsApp is rolling out a feature that allows users to mark channel updates as starred!
As per WABetaInfo, some beta testers now have access to a new feature that lets them mark important channel updates.
To do this, users just need to press and hold on any update in the channel, which opens a menu with a new “star” option.
The starred message is then saved in a separate place, so it’s easy to find later and doesn’t get lost in old messages.
Users can easily go back and see the updates they saved by opening the channel’s info screen, where all starred updates are listed for quick access.

For people who follow many channels, WhatsApp now has a new feature that shows all saved updates in one place.
Instead of checking each channel one by one, users can go to the “Starred” section in settings.
It is pertinent to note that if a user unfollows a channel, all the messages they had saved (starred) from that channel will be automatically removed.
This helps keep the saved messages section clean and only shows content from channels the user still follows.
The new feature is currently available only to some beta testers using the latest WhatsApp beta version on iOS and it will be available to even more users in the coming weeks.
